Southern Nuclear, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, system flushing/testing is well underway for two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle 3&4 location. We currently have opportunities located at our Plant Vogtle 3&4 site for a Chemistry Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY
The Chemistry Supervisor will supervise a group of Chemistry Technicians and is responsible for setting and reinforcing management standards and expectations in the field, and for monitoring performance and providing feedback to assigned personnel. Responsibilities include: primary water chemistry sampling, count room activities, calibration of process radiation monitors, closed cooling water treatment programs, sewage treatment plant operation, maintaining and operating in-line and bench-top instruments and providing necessary support, and normally filling a role in the Emergency Response Organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in related area, e.g. engineering, physical science or chemistry, preferred
Experience Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years related technical training
Two (2) years nuclear plant experience
Three (3) years experience in chemistry to include a minimum of one (1) year experience in radiochemistry
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Detailed knowledge of plant procedures and regulations
Detailed knowledge of plant systems and processes
Working knowledge of computer software programs supporting assigned area
Working knowledge of Memorandum of Agreement
