Limited flexibility for remote work.

The Junior Naval Instructional Designer will support a high-profile and challenging project for the U.S. Navy. You will develop design guides, lesson strategies, and assessments in this position. You will create IMI III on-line lessons, video scripts, and support materials. If you are a tech-savvy self-starter who prides yourself on meeting deadlines, apply now! In this role, you will:

  • Work under the supervision of the project manager or lead instructional designer to develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and on-line curricula or performance support solutions.

  • Work with a design team of instructional designers, media specialists, programmers, quality control specialists, subject matter experts, and project and program managers to design and create new training.

  • Work with minimal supervision on instructional development tasks.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the ADDIE models and instructional design processes.

  • Participate in visual design, prototyping, usability testing, and evaluation and foster design innovation.

  • Review products throughout analysis, design, and development to ensure sensible course flow and compliance with style guidelines and standards.

  • Design and develop SCORM conformance and 508-compliant eLearning course-ware and training materials.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • United States Citizenship and an active DOD Secret Clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) to four (4) years of experience in eLearning design and development and adult learning theory.

  • Prior US Navy or other US Military experience.

  • Demonstrated ability with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools (e.g.,Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point).

  • Working knowledge of at least one development tool (e.g., Lectora, Captivate, Storyline) -experience with AIM or MELD is helpful.

  • Broad knowledge in the field of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design.

  • The ability to present complex information clearly to a disbursed on-line audience.

  • Demonstrated utilization of the ADDIE mode.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, and client interaction skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail, quality assurance, and editing skills.

  • The ability to prioritize and make good decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Up to 10% travel required.
