Job Summary:

The EES Program Manager will serve as a strategic manager dedicated to the success of the assigned contract program. The scope of this role encompasses both pre-sales, construction, as well as post-sales activities for EES mechanical services. The position is expected to provide project continuity across EES project development, construction implementation teams, and management. This includes accurate communication of new opportunities, change requests for existing opportunities, scope of work design deviations, and schedule reporting. Position will be responsible for maintaining a critical, ongoing written/verbal communication relationship with internal estimating, engineering, operations, and sales.

The EES Program Manager will support and coordinate project discussions, pull internal stakeholders together to address and resolve issues, and drive issues to resolution within the PowerSecure organization for communication to the contract Sr. Program manager and EES management.

The EES Program Manager will be deeply involved in reviewing complex contractual documents including master service agreements, site work orders, subcontractor agreements, and flow down provisions, etc. Must be thorough and detail-oriented to ensure business contract terms match what has been agreed to and reflect PowerSecure's position. Moreover, the Program Manager will be responsible for identifying and managing changes and tracking the many moving parts that occur during both the pre-sales and post-sales timeframes. One of the key success factors in this role will be managing and delivering on customer expectations, obtaining customer signoffs, and managing all mechanical change requests.

After gaining an understanding of the project requirements and expectations outlined in the contractual process, the EES Program Manager will be an expert on the customer contract and able to transfer that knowledge to the EES project delivery teams. The EES Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the project teams understand all requirements of the contract to deliver successfully on all commitments contained in contract SOW documents as priced.

During project implementation, the EES Program Manager will maintain a big picture perspective while managing and coordinating the details, provide problem solving at the site project and larger program tactical level. The EES Program Manager will bring significant experience to the table in developing schedules, managing milestones on complex projects, and mitigating risks to meet required delivery dates and project margins.

The EES Program Manager leads key personnel on project sites within the program by leveraging core business processes and ensures cross-functional coordination. The Program Manager will supervise multiple projects, running concurrently, and ensure alignment with strategy, efficient planning, and feasible execution. Outcomes must align with PowerSecure's mission, values, and goals while exceeding customer expectations. The Program Manager will monitor the progress of several projects within their program to make sure they are aligned with the strategic direction and meet or exceed the goals that are set with respect to schedule, budget, margin, and safety.

The EES Program Manager will assist in recommendations and development of business processes to increase the efficiency of the organization. Areas of focus are, design and implementation, site construction management, commissioning, and operations/maintenance, with an emphasis on quality and safety.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • 12+ years of experience directly managing high risk construction projects, with an emphasis on data center construction, electrical, and mechanical.

  • BS in Construction Management or equivalent work experience required.

  • PMP Certification is preferred.

  • OSHA 30 a plus

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills with diverse teams consisting of contractors, external vendors, material supply resources, construction crews, engineers, architectural designers; direct reports and scope of responsibility will average 15-45 personnel that are geographically dispersed nationally.

  • Pre-Sales experience in reviewing and editing terms of legal documents.

  • Track record of delivering successful large-scale projects / programs and managing multiple projects.

  • Strategic planning to efficiently design, plan and meet forecasted timelines while managing multi-million/billon dollar projects.

  • Experience with -Just in Time- logistics and managing master schedules.

  • Well versed in earned value management, efficient use of resources, and budget planning that protects timeline integrity and avoids assuming exorbitant costs.

  • Proficiency with various computer software such as Microsoft Project, Procore, IFS, Microsoft Office

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents including engineering documents.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities: Project Manager(s), Superintendents, Foreman, Subcontractors, and close coordination with Internal Resources.

  • Skilled in relationship building and ongoing engagement, savvy to manage over the long term, and uses excellent, seasoned judgment to manage issues as they arise.

  • Ability to identify and manage priorities with urgency, while maintaining high quality and customer service.

  • Coordinate and lead planning, communication, and execution with the project teams.

  • Advise best practices regarding contract review, pricing assessments, budget development, and project schedule creation.

  • Coordinate development and execution of change orders, invoices, subcontracts, and transmittal documents.

  • Provide support to Project Management Team with risk assessment/mitigation, budget, schedule impact resolutions, and managing customer expectations.

  • Provide feedback from Project Management Team to Executive Leadership Team on required training, process revisions, and overall efficiency improvements.

  • Must demonstrate professionalism and exemplify a contagious positive attitude in all situations.

  • Manage, support, and mentor Project Management Teams to successful execution of projects varying in scope, size, operating concurrently.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Travel required (up to 50%), must be willing and able to drive a company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary.

  • Must be able to stand or walk for 3-4 hours at a time over various types of terrain.

  • Capable of sitting for extended amounts of time, most times working at a computer or conducting meetings.

  • Environment consists of potential exposure to weather in varying climates, noise intensity levels. Energized electrical equipment, overhead hazards (crane & rigging), and heavy machinery.
