The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris Technologoies is currently seeking a Parts Inspector C to join our operations team at our Jupiter, FL location. This position is for 2nd shift.
Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of receiving, routing, and records processing of parts, assemblies, and associated paperwork to maintain proper control of parts and materials throughout all of the various inspection processes. Make disposition of items in accordance with established company and government quality procedures and inspection requirements. May be required to plan, direct, and perform a wide range of computerized coordinate measuring machine (CMM) operations, and develop new coordinate measuring routines, methods, procedures, and applications to inspect all types of parts, assemblies, tools and fixtures in various stages of experimental development and manufacture.
100% of responsibilities include:
Receive incoming shop, purchased, and vendor parts and assemblies, verify identification data against available paperwork, and visually inspect parts for obvious damage and to assure packaging complies with applicable specifications.
Obtain missing data, records, routing cards, and review paperwork with status such as Receiving Slip, Inspection Method Sheet, part and assembly drawings, Quality Assurance Data Sheets, Work Orders, Vendor Quality Control dimensional record, Inspection Quality Record, and Material Laboratory Report.
Analyze current status of the specific part in relation to the desire disposition and established requirements, and contact supervision as necessary to acquire missing information, resolve discrepancies or to otherwise facilitate routing and consummate disposition.
Approve acceptable items complying with all applicable operations and procedures, route parts for further processing, or indicate Quality Review Order for nonconforming items, including source inspection findings in variance to drawing requirements.
Comply with the correct operation, care, use and maintenance of equipment, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
Maintain and review logs, records, systems, build and test sheets and prepare reports as required.
Operate hoists, lifting devices, and fork lift truck as required.
Participate on 5S Events and support initiatives.
High FOD awareness and compliance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Perform precise and small scale measurements((10).
Perform work to a high quality standard level and understand Stamp Warranty and the responsibilities to having stamp/signature authority.
Ability to accept/reject hardware and material using specifications against measurement results.
Comply with environmental/safety regulations and programs requirements to ensure safe working conditions and to preserve a healthy environment. Comply with company quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Keep current with training certifications for compliance with governmental and company regulations.
May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications for assigned area.
Participate on special projects and in meetings when required, with co-workers, supervisors, engineers, suppliers, customers, and service groups to review, install or modify equipment and procedures ensuring customer requirements are met.
When conducting CMM:
Plan, direct, and perform a wide range of CMM operations- work from complicated drawings, inspection methods sheets, and direct instructions to determine inspection requirements. Determine type of CMM most adaptable to inspection requirements of the items to be inspected, utilizing the most efficient and effective operation of CMM.
Select most appropriate probe or stylus for common inspections, check probe surface for flat spots and other irregularities, and diameter with a test ring. Use established programs and routines when available, and develop standard routines and machine code loops when necessary to inspect items.
Review machine generated printout showing features inspected and dimensions obtained, and compare results to drawing specifications. Verify accuracy of setup and check computer input to ensure accuracy and resolve questionable results. Use a variety of precision measuring equipment to set probes and verify accuracy of digital readout dimensions.
Setup and operate CMM to calibrate machines in accordance with Gages Standards requirements.
Prepare inspection reports of findings, indicating acceptable items, variant parts requiring corrective work, or unacceptable items requiring Quality Review action.

Required Qualifications:
Requires 0-5 years of directly related experience. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2-3 years trade school highly desirable. Prior experience in the Aerospace industry is a plus.
Strong blueprint reading capability.
Strong Understanding of GD&T.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Zeiss Calypso experience is a plus.
Requires well rounded knowledge of applied mathematics including, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and handbook formulae to read and interpret drawings, specifications and complicated sketches. Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate through manufacturing and quality systems.
Requires ability to operate CMM and other inspection tools.
