The Energy & Advanced Products and Services Division is looking for a Budget Analyst to assist our developments in advanced power systems focusing on electrification. In this role, you will be responsible to work with the engineering development teams to create program forecasts, manage the annual budgeting process, and support product development program financial reporting needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Compile and analyze detailed monthly Actuals reports for Management. Investigate and resolve mischarges.

  • Explain Monthly Spend vs. Forecast. Resolve discrepancies as necessary. Forecast planned expenditures.

  • Manage input of annual budget. Coordinate collaboration and negotiation between engineering managers to ensure budget dollars are distributed appropriately based on allocation

  • Work with program leads to provide accurate program financial information to accounting for cost roll-up prior to key program gateways.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Business Management or four years equivalent

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (i.e.. VLOOKUP function, filters and pivot tables)

  • Working knowledge of Caterpillar Purchasing and Supply Chain systems

  • Project Management Experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Working knowledge of advanced power products components, parts, and releasing

  • Familiarity with Caterpillar New Product Introduction (NPI) process

  • Proven ability to work with Accounting, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Engineering
