Program Summary
KBR is looking for a motivated, energetic, knowledgeable, and proven KC-135 aircraft technical subject matter expert on all maintenance and documentation related to KC-135/KC-10 (Legacy Tanker) Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability (RMQSI). Individual must independently identify maintenance issues, aircraft component failures at the lowest level and develop a process improvement strategy based on findings at designated USAF Air Logistics Center locations within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. This is not an entry level position.
Job Summary
Supports the KC-135 System Program Office (SPO) program manager and engineering in executing his/her mission as single point of integrative responsibility needed to ensure historical maintenance data in the program is reviewed, edited, and managed effectively for use in strategic decision-making processes. Reviews historical maintenance entries, defines and generates required edits in accordance with technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, support and test equipment, work specifications, depot level logistics support plans, and life-cycle management sustainment plans providing supportability opportunities for the legacy tankers. Anticipates aircraft maintenance challenges and/or regulatory/ compliance issues; Recommends process, product or service improvements. Required to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the Air Force and DoD aircraft maintenance. Mentors and advises internal and external teams and team members to achieve milestones and objectives. Develops the strategies for RMQSI planning and execution. Develops and delivers briefings on unique and complex problems with documented maintenance deficiencies. Utilizes conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions. Works daily with customer at Tinker AFB with some remote days possible.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for collection, review, and reporting of historical KC-135 maintenance data on issues related to Legacy Tanker Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability (RMQSI). Independently utilizes component failure issues to develop process improvement opportunities and innovative thinking, developing solutions related to aircraft component sustainability at designated USAF Air Logistics Center locations.
Defines, generates, and provides comprehensive analysis of KC-135/KC-10 (Legacy Tanker) maintenance data, reviewing maintenance data repositories, technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, support and test equipment, work specifications, depot level logistics support plans, life-cycle management sustainment plans, and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+) opportunities for the legacy tankers.
Develops the analytical strategies for RMQSI planning and execution, solving unique and complex problems.
Tasks involve managing technical maintenance data, developing technical briefs, analyzing historical aircraft maintenance requirements, developing and presenting accurate and concise management briefings and developing strategic forecasts for the Program Manager. Ability to respond to immediate response times for fast analysis of aircraft maintenance and resource data to respond to government data calls.
Basic Qualifications
Must have experience in Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability of the KC-135; extensive experience with KC-135 System Program Office and KC-135 weapon system maintenance at the maintenance technician level. Must be able to organize and communicate effectively with government and contractor personnel in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with customers, engineering professionals, technicians, and other managers, in order to ensure we meet contract requirements.
Extensive experience in KC-135 program depot maintenance (PDM) repair and overhaul and product repair lines is vital, with the ability to engage sub-contractors and vendors to meet project requirements. Individuals with KC-135 hydraulics, power plant, fuel, flight controls, rigging, and general aircraft desired.
Demonstrated experience at or above the journeyman maintenance technician level with the KC-135 weapon system and/or depot maintenance experience is required. Knowledge of Tinker AFB and its PDM mission and requirements is essential. A successful candidate must demonstrate independent capability to meet mission requirements.
Active security clearance or the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Use of MS Office Suite; specifically, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Multiple years' experience with USAF KC-135 Weapon System maintenance, PDM maintenance, commodities management, process improvement, Air Force Smart Operations, Lean Transformation, and field level aircraft maintenance.
Extensive knowledge of KC-135 PDM Work Specifications, technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, time compliance technical requirements, and historical aircraft maintenance data retrieval and analysis.
Independent ability to communicate with KC-135 field level, PDM maintenance technicians, KC-135 SPO engineers, and program managers in the interrogation of historical maintenance data, analysis of retrieved data, and presentation to the requestor in an analytical, data driven, clear, and concise reporting method. Ability to provide supporting documentation in the development of efficient and effective maintenance solutions and countermeasures to any maintenance issue presented.
Knowledge of Tinker AFB and its KC-135 PDM mission is a plus.
