The position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance pre-employment.
Serco supports the US Navy with the Government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) Project Management System - Extranet Sites (PMS-ES) information system. PMS-ES was purpose-built to meet the data and workflow management needs unique to Navy acquisition programs and provides the ability to securely transmit and process information and data deliverables across the various ship design projects, activities, processes, and functions.
You will be part of a 14-member team that works closely with the customer and will be responsible for web application development including integration with database systems, custom configuration of web interfaces, development and modification of web layouts, and developing ad hoc software to extend system functions.
In this role you, you will:
Design and develop CF applications for PMS-ES.
Contribute to all phases of the software development life-cycle.
Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
Conduct Software analysis, programming, testing, debugging activities and maintenance.
Develop application codes for programs, technical designs for application development and recommend changes to improve established CF application processes.
Identify production and non-production application issues, develop solutions, and implement necessary changes.
Qualifications
T o be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or similar and5+ years of Enterprise Application Development experience with ColdFusion (prefer 2016 or later).
Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance pre-employment.
United States (U.S.) citizenship.
Expertise in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CFML, SQL, and REST-based web services is required.
Experience in Oracle database is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in a team environment - team player.
Experience with ColdBox (4.x or later)
Experience with Vue JS or other modern JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular)
Experience with Bootstrap CSS v3.x or later
Experience with monitoring of Enterprise Applications for performance, uptime, and security
Dev Ops (CI/CD)
Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience with PHP is desired
Experience with SQL Server is desired
Prior experience supporting DoD customers is desired
Solid understanding of object oriented based design patterns with modern approach.
Experience working with Version Control Git/GitLab).
Experience in data migration, database schema design, and ability to write advanced SQL with complex joins.
Well versed with secure coding practices and exposure to code analysis tools to identify security vulnerabilities.
Experience troubleshooting, testing, and reverse engineering complex applications.
