Serco has a great opportunity for a Navigation Systems Analyst supporting the US Navy! NAVSEA is changing the face of Navy training across the fleet. The Surface Training Systems (STS) Program Office is the OPNAV single point of contact for strategic program planning, policy, acquisition, life-cycle management, research and development, and technical insertion into all existing and future Navy Surface Training Systems. This position supports NAVSEA in the acquisition, stand-up and lifecycle support for new navigation systems and high-tech trainers for the Navy. Evaluate plans for training systems supporting modernization and new construction acquisition programs. Assesses the feasibility of proposed approaches to solve problems in the area of shipboard navigation. In this role you must possess US Navy surface ship navigation experience. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with US Navy operational mission areas and training system requirements.
You will be part of a large team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality training solutions to the Surface Navy. In this role you will:
Provide program management and training system acquisition support for Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment Navigation (STAVE-N) training systems as needed.
Coordinate with training system acquisition stakeholders to support Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution (PPBE) process in support of requirements, development, delivery, and sustainment of Surface Training Systems as required by the Department of Defense 5000.2 series and OPNAV instructions for Warfare Chairs.
Develop and maintain project status briefs, trackers, and other project management tools to monitor and report cost, schedule, performance, and risk related to a portfolio of STAVE-N training system acquisition projects.
Make recommendations for training requirements and advise the Mission Area Chair on defending the requirements to the Surface Expeditionary Warfare Training Committee (SEWTC) and the resource sponsor.
This position specializes in the planning, acquisition, activation and sustainment of Navy Training Systems and Installations.
Develops financials planning and budget forecasts for system acquisition and sustainment.
Develops and updates Senior Level PowerPoint Briefings.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
An Active DoD Issued Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in plus 5-7 years directly relevant work experience.
Experience in training acquisition program management or Navy acquisition program management
Navy Surface ship navigation experience to include Navigator, ship control and bridge watch duties.
Experience with use of electronic navigation systems
Expert level experience with Microsoft applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Ability to travel 10%
Desired skills :
Possesses knowledge of Navy Navigation Training Systems and applicable Navy installed Navigation training and operational mission areas and training system requirements.
OPNAV / Pentagon Acquisition Experience.
DAWIA Certification.
Master Training Specialist (MTS) or Former Navy Instructor experience. Shipboard Seamanship and Navigation team experience.
