What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
As a global enterprise with multinational offices, VMware maintains close governance over employee access to reduce security risks and comply with local, regional, and country regulations by using an IDM platform. The Identity and Access Management team, part of VMware's Security & Resiliency Org is looking for a team player who will administer and develop capabilities of the IDM platform that manages full employee access lifecycle management (from birth right through access removal) and enables risk-driven access management.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Participate in all IAM platform deployment activities, connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow configuration and development, and third-party system integration. Align and contribute to the vision of the team to onboard 100+ applications into our IDM platform.
Engineer solutions to ensure that IAM services perform according to defined processes, meet documented policies, and comply with Information Security and Business requirements.
Drive continuous improvement of workflows, policies, procedures, and technology related to Access Management to enable risk reduction, business enablement, and operational efficiencies.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
The IAM Analyst will spend a major part of their time onboarding and maintaining applications in the new IDM platform and will have ownership of their respective applications.
Utilize your knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts to implement and manage Birthright access provisioning, Life Cycle Management and adhere to the Compliance requirements.
Configure connectors using technical skills like WEB services development (SOAP and REST/JSON) and database (SQL, MySQL).
Collaborate in-person and through remote communication tools to effectively work with all stakeholders and customers to improve data and business processes and negotiate priorities.
Solid experience in application onboarding with an IDM solution (OIM, SailPoint, Saviynt, CA)
WEB services development experience (SOAP and REST/JSON) and good knowledge of databases (SQL, MySQL), and strong scripting skills
Single Sign-on and Federation (Kerberos, SAML 2.0, ADFS, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, etc.)

The Hiring Manager for this role is Senior Manager, Identity and Access Management. Her expertise in the Security domain has been built by having various roles developing security programs and recently building and managing an IAM team.
The senior manager is looking for a team player who can align with the vision of the team and contribute to the team's success. Everyone in the team is encouraged to pick and lead projects, thus enabling them to become SMEs. The core team is made up of around 30 engineers working in close partnership with members of HR, IT, and an IAM architect. The team works flexible hours, arranging schedules to fit their needs and taking into consideration weekly phone calls with global colleagues, primarily in India and US.
