Job Description:
Caterpillar's Victoria, TX facility has an open position in purchasing and we are looking for an analyst to join our team. As an Advanced Purchasing Analyst, you will have the opportunity to get involved in all purchasing activities, assist our buyers with negotiations and strategy, and develop a deep understanding of Caterpillar purchasing and our suppliers.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining and updating all purchasing data such as: purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, material rejection reports, tooling records, and supplier data
Providing much needed analysis when purchasing team is working on projects
Involvement with suppliers about pricing, quality rejects, delivery issues, and other supplier performance data
Opportunities to get involved in many aspects of purchasing and suppliers
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma
1-3 years of job-related experience with one of the following: purchasing/management/procurement/supply chain
MS Office and specially Excel skills
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced MS Excel skills and SAP
Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
Familiar with basic purchasing principles, procedures, and techniques; knowledge of purchasing systems
Knowledge of construction excavators and/or fabrications
Effective communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and collaborative work style
Ability to prioritize daily tasks in a fast-moving environment and organize and keep track of many details
