GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides a variety of clinical treatments and services for assigned patients in a patient care area. Reports to department management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates and coordinates program with multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care.
Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population.
Participates in formal and informal patient, family and staff education.
Demonstrates effective use of time and resources.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current Virginia state license as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a Compact State license.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of patient care treatment, planning and assessment at a level normally acquired through an educational program which qualifies the candidate to take the state licensure exam as a LPN.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
