The Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) Strategy Manager plays a critical role in the success of the collective division driving key strategic initiatives and actions across CISD and across the enterprise. As a member of the executive leadership team, you will provide strategic input and facilitation to the Senior Vice President.
Job Summary:
This is a highly strategic role that relies on effective networking and exceptional interpersonal skills, as there is significant interdependency across Caterpillar with key business partners including CISD (all departments), Distribution Services Division, Machine Business Divisions, Cat Digital and Cat Financial. The Strategy Manager is diligently focused on delivery and execution, relying on their strategic perspective to assure the most relevant outcome and impact in order to drive services growth. The position often confronts complex issues or problems, which require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique, and solutions can require non-traditional approaches. The position will manage a team of 5 and serves as an advisor/consultant to CISD Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents and informally leads the CISD Dept Strategy Mgrs.
Job Duties:
Owner of Dependency Management Process.
Driving the overall management and closure of CI dependencies.
Responsible for 4DX implementation & operationalization of critical breakthroughs
Leads Caterpillar Leadership Table business case development and management.
Leading strategy development to improve results for CISD and positively impacting services growth.
Leading strategy and on-going support for the 5 Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) key breakthroughs.
Exceptional networking skills, being accessible, responsive and focused on delivery and execution
Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, ensuring clear action items and timely follow-up
Provide strategic guidance to division Senior Vice President, often leading (or co-leading) strategic initiatives that are outside of functional groups
Attending and presenting at various executive/department meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connect the dots with others across the company
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience
Experience with data analysis and interpretation; relaying insights to others
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Advanced business degree
Experience across an enterprise including dealer facing/field roles
Exceptional organizational, analytical and project management skills
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile and fast-paced environment
Ability to distill high level communication into meaningful context and actions
