What you'll do here:
We are looking for a Strategy Analyst to help lead critical strategic and analytics-focused initiatives across the corporation, focused on driving our bold growth agenda and improving the organization's operational efficiency via problem solving, advanced analytics and data modeling.
Responsibilities
Lead / support analysis of business processes, toolkits and stakeholders to identify improvement areas and design solutions to increase business efficiency
Provide impactful strategy recommendations based on your analysis
Present findings to senior management and prepare documentation for Board of Directors
Work hand-in-hand with external research team, bolstering work with relevant internal data analysis to provide well-rounded recommendations
Provide analysis on new and proposed commercial models
Drive analysis and thought leadership on improving our overall services to our internal and external customers, ensuring we remain best in class
Function as team member in a variety of strategy, operations and business development projects, including emerging business opportunities, etc.
Be a go-to data and knowledge resource for other Cengage Academic functions (Marketing, Sales, etc.)
Skills you will need here:
BA/BS with high achievement
Summer experiences to have included corporate experience with a heavy focus on process analysis, data analytics / organizing data with a significant impact, market research and/or consulting.
Solid understanding of PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to produce clear reports and presentations
Strong stakeholder management capabilities. Manage and influence high level individuals within the firm to shape the company of tomorrow.
Strong analytical capabilities and previous experience developing data-driven analyses
Other advantageous experience: SQL, Python, R/SPSS, PowerPivot, Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, web scraping
Ability to work with structured and unstructured data
Strong understanding of causal inference
Interest and / or previous experience in education, software, and/or publishing industries a plus
Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams
Personal Attributes
Highly analytical, with quantitative intuition and approach
Passion to build business logic and detailed models through use of data tools and code
Eager to seek ambiguous problems
Strong writing and verbal presentation skills
Skilled in preparing and communicating information and recommendations to a broad and diverse audience
Highly collaborative and able to influence, to achieve results with and through others!

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$55,500.00 - $88,800.00 USD
