Position Description
Are you looking to perform unmanned systems engineering work in support of NSWC (Naval Surface Warfare Center) and PCD (Panama City Detachment) in Panama City, FL? Then, this is the Opportunity for you!
Serco's Panama City office supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) as a prime on their Rapid Innovation and Operational Testing (RIOT) contract, as a subcontractor on two Defense Systems Technical Area Tasks (DSTAT) contracts, and as a subcontractor on two SeaPort contracts which support research and development, prototype development and testing. Our team supports the full life cycle of Navy research and development projects with planning, procurement, engineering, technician, and testing support. This role will design, develop, and test all aspects of software components. The applicant must be familiar with software design principles, repository systems, configuration management systems, Object Oriented languages, and build process configuration and setup.

In this role, you will:
Support Senior Government technical personnel and Serco project managers in various technical activities related to design and technical product development.
This position receives immediate supervision from Serco management as well as technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff within the Government.
Interact with Government customers daily and typically provide input to Serco project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables.
Design, develop, test, and software to support unmanned system development.
Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties. May provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems and applicable company procedures and guidelines.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Serco Management and Government customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar and 0 to 2 years of work experience.
Must have experience in the field of computer science and security and have experience in developing and testing security solutions in unmanned systems.
Additionally, experience in conducting security assessments and security consulting services for Multiple Security Level (MSL) and non-MSL systems must be demonstrated.
The applicant also must have experience in the field of software engineering.
Ability to work independently and under general direction ensuring daily reporting requirements are upheld to ensure continuous support to customer missions.
Additional experience shall include, element location methods analysis, target tracking, development of onboard signal processing algorithms, encryption of unmanned systems, and experience developing system level software solutions and integration, including reliability and maintainability of software performance.
Strong knowledge of software engineering principals, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertise.
Strong knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
Basic internal team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, MicroSoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Unmanned security design, signal processing and algorithm design.
Must be able to obtain / maintain an active SECRET level clearance upon employment. (U.S. Citizenship is required)
