Job Description:
Caterpillar's Medium Tractors play a key role in helping our customers build a better world and we have a great opportunity for you to join the team that makes this happen! As an Electrical Integration Sr. Design Engineer on the Medium Tractor Electrical Engineering team, you will solve complex, global technical problems, design the Electrical system including wiring groups, electrical harnesses/cables for the D6-D8 tractors and pipelayers.
As the Electrical Integration Sr. Design Engineer, you will:
Create concepts and designs to solve complex engineering projects
Utilize Creo to create highly integrated designs within the machine platforms.
Participate in the new product design, continuous product improvement and maintenance deliverables for the electrical team
Work on meeting cost/ time/ quality goals on new product projects and machine platforms
Provide build support by resolving shop, supplier and end-customer issues in the field
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering curriculum or Engineering Technology
5 or more years of relevant experience
3 or more years of experience in design, test, or manufacturing
Knowledge of electrical systems and components
Ability to work with a global team including the flexibility to occasionally participate in early morning or late evening meetings with partners in France, Brazil, India, Thailand in addition to the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Components and systems knowledge in Track Type Tractors
Experience in electrical harness manufacturing systems or processes
Demonstrated strong commitment to Caterpillar Product Development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Creo or other modeling or simulation tools
