GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of department leadership, the Senior Project Manager performs, manages, and oversees assigned construction activities, programs, and projects for Planning and Construction. Oversees the work of contractors and/or in-house project managers, and is responsible for direct oversight of construction projects, to ensure the projects are completed on schedule in a high quality, cost effective manner in accordance with the CHKDHS vision and mission. The Senior Project Manager independently carries out assigned responsibilities under the guidance of the Director, Facility Planning and Construction and/or upper management when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, or oversees the planning, and coordinates assigned projects in collaboration with affected departments, contractors and other supporting vendors.
Ensures all project related documentation is in place to ensure projects meet or exceed all appropriate healthcare regulatory, safety and infection control standards.
Tracks and reports project cost, schedules and status along with recommendations to keep projects on time and on budget.
Participates in routine and final inspections with inspectors.
Independently carries out and is accountable for daily operations and other negotiated/assigned activities.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Ten years' experience in healthcare construction, project planning, budgeting, and design.
CAD skills preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent time management, communication, and problem solving skills.
Strong management skills necessary for selecting and managing successful project teams.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
