Caterpillar is seeking an entry level GCP cloud engineer to join the team within Enterprise Cloud Adoption Team. In this role, the incumbent will work alongside both peers and architects, with specific focus on rolling out new services, operational tasks, and cybersecurity efforts.

Caterpillar is seeking an entry level GCP cloud engineer to join the team within Enterprise Cloud Adoption Team. In this role, the incumbent will work alongside both peers and architects, with specific focus on rolling out new services, operational tasks, and cybersecurity efforts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provisioning resources in GCP to enable Caterpillar's analytical community

  • Performing development, automation, and deployment assignments without close supervision

  • Working independently on complex, globally distributed cloud technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems

  • Deploying or integrating cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from business partners

  • Assisting business partners with documentation, training, and usability efforts

Required experience:

  • 1-3 years in infrastructure operations and/or application development, with special emphasis in areas of networking, applications services, analytics platforms, distributed computing, or security

  • Experience developing automated solutions using Infrastructure as Code

  • Basic knowledge of Identity and Access Management

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex global network

  • Experience developing architectural designs, processes and procedures.

Preferred Experience:

  • Certification in Google Cloud Platform

  • Experience using the Agile methodology

  • Experience working with CICD pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps

  • Experience working with corporate security on infrastructure or applications security compliance and remediation activities (ie: Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline)
