The Opportunity
As a dedicated Enterprise Compliance and Operational Risk Testing Analyst Senior, you will support the Second Line of Defense's oversight of the Credit Card.
In this role, you will be a major part of our Enterprise Compliance and Operational Risk Testing (ECORT) team. As a Senior Analyst, you will partner with various collaborators across the USAA Enterprise to produce high quality results in support of ECORT's Credit Card-Testing program. You will implement independent risk-based testing under the enterprise testing program methodology to ensure departmental processes and activities align with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Develop the steps needed to test and/or analyze compliance laws/regulations and complex policies/procedures.
Conduct independent testing to ensure operational risks and compliance requirements are adhered to.
Review work papers, findings, and issues of team members to support conclusions of test findings.
Perform complex qualitative analysis of data.
Identifies potential control weaknesses and makes recommendations to remediate issues.
Ability to lead all aspects of a compliance and operational risk test from end to end.
May develop executive briefs and present to key internal and external partners on increased issues.
Build, develop, and maintain relationships with business and internal control partners (Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal) to facilitate collaboration between all lines of defense for testing.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree (10 years total experience required without a degree).
6 or more years of validated experience within (internal/external audit, operational risk/compliance testing, quality assurance) banking, insurance, or other similar financial services industries.
Shown knowledge of relevant industry regulations and regulatory compliance in a specific area of scope.
Proven experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations and guidance on operational risk principles/frameworks.
Advanced knowledge of risk-based testing or auditing techniques and data analysis principles, as well as the ability to interpret subsequent results.
Shown ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What sets you apart:
6 + years of experience developing, implementing, and driving standard methodology risk testing, or auditing techniques (e.g., transactional testing, control testing, re-performance testing, adherence testing, etc.).
Compliance and operational risk testing experience, to include plan/scope testing, and credit card experience within a deadline driven environment.
Direct experience within the second or third line of defense, developing and implementing risk & compliance testing/auditing techniques.
6+ years of shown experience at a Financial Institution, Internal/External Auditor function, or Federal Examiner.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or CRCM designation.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $99,160 - $189,530 .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
