ITW North American Stamped Fastener Division, (NASF), serves the major OEMs and their tier suppliers in the North American automotive market. The PPAP coordinator oversees the production part approval process (PPAP) for products. Duties include obtaining documentation about measurements, conflicting materials, layout and installation requirements for parts, IMDS procedures along, assuring alignment with quality programs and systems. Ensures consistent application of PPAPs and ensures quality systems meet ITW standards and conform to our customer's requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains PPAP and IMDS systems, completing all paperwork as required for tracking and timely submittal, and document control including distribution/removal of obsolete prints, forms, and or work instructions.

  • Maintains sample parts.

  • Participate in quality planning/manufacturing/engineering PPAP process reviews, as needed.

  • Communicate professionally with peers and customers regarding PPAP and IMDS related issues.

  • Able to interface with customers on APQP, process control plans, PFMEAs, MSA, and SPC.

  • Coordinates course of action for alleviating and resolving concerns (8d and 5Y's), as needed.

  • Analyze and verify the dimensional capability of products and processes (Includes suppliers)

  • Understand Gage R&R's and Capability Studies

  • Comply with all company Procedures, Policies, Work Instructions, and IATF16949/EMS-14001 requirements.

  • Other job duties as assigned

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent; plus 3+ years' work experience within an automotive manufacturing industry.

  • Able to read blueprints.

  • Experience in the Automotive stamping industry (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC) preferred.

  • Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technical ability to utilize measuring equipment and gauges.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand written and verbal instructions and professionally communicate with all levels of peers, suppliers, and customers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Email) Minitab & Adobe Acrobat, and various software systems for logging and tracking results.

  • Detailed-oriented, strong time management and organizational skills, and a collaborative mentality.
