Position Objective:
Direct a team of Quality Technicians and oversee Metrology Labs in an efficient manner assuring the desired quality and quantity of work is achieved to meet business objectives
Essential Functions :
Provide supervision to the Quality Technician team
Lead metrology functions such as:
Metrology inspections, including in-process inspections, annual layouts, and other various lab activities.
Schedule calibrations and maintain measurement equipment
Maintain a safe work environment for the team in coordination with 5S.
. Ensure all team members are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly.
. Establish responsibilities and goals for quality personnel that are consistent with organizational goals.
. Manage team performance reviews and mentor individual growth and development.
Make certain all procedures, work instructions and quality documents are followed.
Ensure required quality records are prepared and maintained.
. Assist in the development of inspections, gaging, testing, and evaluation methods.
. Achieve maximum efficiency and productivity of employees and measurement equipment.
. Drive continual improvement for areas of responsibility.
. Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
. Maintain good employee relations.
. Perform other duties as assigned or directed
. 5 + years quality experience
2 + years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
3 + years in Automotive Industry
GD&T experience with the ability to read blueprints required
Working knowledge of lab equipment including CMM, Vision Systems, and handheld Measurement Equipment required
CMM programming experience (highly preferred)
Proficiency with gage calibration, including gage repeatability and reproducibility (R&R)
Working knowledge of standards such as IATF 16949 or ISO9001
Ability to lead, inspire and develop their team to achieve high performance results within a positive and motivated environment.
Holds self and others accountable to established standards and objectives
Excellent organizational skills, strong analytical ability and high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills and positive conflict management skills
Ability to effectively teach and train others; assess and develop team member skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think innovatively
Proficiency with computer systems; including MS Office Suite, ERP systems, web-based programs, quality and metrology software, etc.
Proficient in Core Tools and APQP process (PFD, FMEA, CP) - FMEA/VDA experience a plus.
