Description
Leidos is seeking a Senior Principal Radar System's Engineer to join a talented team of engineers and scientists within the RF & Intelligence Solutions Department. The department's goals include comprehending, exploiting, and evaluating foreign threats. The department performs radio frequency (RF) design, custom hardware builds, algorithm development, and analysis across a variety of both research and development and operational tasks. The candidate selected for this position will support projects for the DoD, Intelligence Community, and other Prime contractors.
Primary Responsibilities
The Sr. Principal Radar Systems Engineer duties include performing systems requirements evaluation, functional studies, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. The candidate will promote development of innovative approaches, solutions, and architecture development. Frequent interaction with the customer through in-process reviews, customer visits and demonstrations are part of the role.
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering (or related technical discipline) from an ABET accredited institute and seventeen (17+) years of relevant work history is needed. If candidate has an MS in a related field fifteen (15+) years of relevant work history is needed.
Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of RF transceiver system architecture and cascade analysis
Candidate should have design experience working in bands from UHF to Ka
Familiarity with software development, integration, and test and as well as requirements development and verification (modeling and simulation background a plus)
Materials, production, and configuration management history is needed
Prior work with Open Air Range integration
Candidate must have experience working with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
Candidate must understand fundamentals of antenna theory (types, designs, beam patterns, etc.)
Candidate must be a US citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following qualifications:
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Junior team mentoring is highly encouraged
The ideal candidate will have hands-on work in developing, documenting, and executing test processes and procedures for electronic and electromechanical products.
Fundamental understanding of DSP concepts (matched filtering, coherent integration, etc.)
Programming in at least one high-level language (MATLAB, C++, Python)
Experience with Linux operating systems
Experience working/integrating RF transceivers with FPGA-based systems.
Experience working with high-speed ADCs and DACs
Candidates with TS clearance with SSBI are preferred but not required

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
