Purpose of PositionA Greene County Sheriff's Deputy may be required to perform numerous Law Enforcement related tasks and these can vary by division. Regardless of Division it is the responsibility of all Deputies to provide the highest degree of law enforcement possible to the citizens of Greene County utilizing the resources that are made available to them. A Deputy pledges to serve with integrity, professionalism, dedication competence, and character. Deputies will apply the laws of the State of Missouri and the United States of America fairly to those we serve.Minimum Training and ExperienceRequired to Perform Essential Job Functions Missouri Peace Officer Certification required. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED and valid motor vehicle operator's license. Prior law enforcement or patrol experience and Associate's degree in law enforcement is preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be taken into consideration. Applicants must live inside a 50-mile radius of Greene County within 6 months of beginning employment. Applicants may not have any felony convictions or orders of ex parte against them. Applicants may not have any DWI charges or convictions in the past 3 years, nor may they have used illegal controlled substances within the past 3 years.
