Summary You will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Ocean Terminal Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR. Responsibilities You will assign transportation control numbers, types government bills of landing and determine and annotates on documents the appropriate commodity code and freight rates You will ensure proper preparation, packaging and documentation is accomplished for the transportation of hazardous materials You will coordinate the development of stow plans, taking into consideration weigh and measurements of the cargo You will resolve technical problems concerning complex routing, evaluation of rates and establishments of priorities Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: work requiring the application of an extensive body transportation regulations, methods and practices to perform a wide variety of transportation support and resolving a wide range of problems/issues related to the movement freight or cargo. I have experience preparing and processing shipment documents to schedule cargo for surface or air transportation. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Prepare, compile and type reports of statistical data of traffic movement; 2) Ensure computer programs and local area network equipment is properly utilized to communicate with all agencies; 3) Manage the planning, loading and stowage of cargo aboard vessels and offloading cargo from vessels; 4) Prepare and submit transportation data to maintain obligation authority to cite funding allocated for commercial modes of transportation.
