The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. The Logistics Engineer 4 is responsible for leading or supporting the proposal, design, and implementation of all related logistics processes, machinery & equipment, storage concepts, among other things for Cat Parts or Integrated Logistics Services projects. This position is located at the Griffin Logistics Center in Griffin, GA and reports to the logistics engineering manager for the Americas region.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Design and implement successful logistics solutions by being responsible for the following areas:
Data purification & analysis
warehouse storage design & manufacturing point-of-use (POU) design
machinery & equipment design and procurement
workforce & equipment planning
logistics process design
inventory transfer & rearrangement planning
integrating supply chain knowledge into warehouse design
Engineer & implement solutions to reduce safety risks
Manage ongoing planning and execution of consolidation in support of the material flow plan
Define short- & long-term actions to address capacity constraints including load consolidation, move low volume inventory off site, define min/max for ASRS inventory
Manage the installation of racking at offsites
Document layouts and proposed changes in AutoCAD
Execute capital purchases requires to implement solutions defined by lead engineer projects
Be knowledgeable about the local warehouse management system (WMS) and can integrate this into the overall design of the facility
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in logistics engineering, warehouse operations, supply chain, or manufacturing
In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in logistics engineering, warehouse operations, supply chain, or manufacturing
Willingness to travel domestically at minimum 25% of the time
Strong PC Skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Top Candidates will also have:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering
AutoCad Experience
1+ year of project management experience
Additional Information:
This position is located in Griffin, GA and may offer domestic relocation to the top candidate
