PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The purpose of this position is to clean and disinfect the interior and exterior of hatchers, eliminating all chick debris and bacteria. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Cleans hatchers by scraping, scrubbing, and shoveling out chick down, spraying with a pressure hose, applying acid at times, and disinfecting. Cleans hatcher hallway daily. Climbs on top of hatchers to ensure they are clean of all chick debris. Keeps all equipment in a clean and useable condition. Maintains production requirements by cleaning out 35-40 hatchers per shift. Unloads buggies from hatchers to clean hatchers and re-loads clean buggies when completed. Physical Activities: Must be able to work in temperature extremes, on feet for entire shift. Must be able to push/pull 1000 pound wheeled buggies, full and empty of poultry, up to 50 feet. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds of equipment or product anywhere from the floor to above shoulder height at various times throughout the shift. Must be able to climb 10 steps on a ladder and work at an elevated level of 10 feet at various times throughout the shift. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required. Technical Experience: Must be able to demonstrate understanding of Hazardous Communications and the proper methods of use of chemicals. Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization. Minimum Education: Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED.
