Job Description

The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments. We are seeking a Material Coordinator for the Warewash Division at its Lancaster Plant facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. (This is not a work-from-home position).

The Warewash Business Unit produces efficient commercial dishwashers and waste reduction products used to clean dishware in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities, and retail establishments. and other high-volume operations that partner with Somat for cost-cutting, environment sustaining solutions. Warewash is seeking to expand growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.

The Materials & Quality Coordinator position will alternate between shipping and receiving and consist of; receiving, accounting for and locating supplies and parts within the plant, entering materials data into the computer correctly, compiling reports and records including serial number logs and daily schedule attainment, Kanban replenishment, inspecting of parts ( to include development of parts inspection check lists), preparing finished goods for shipment, use of various shipping means including FED EX/UPS etc. for shipments.. Person must be capable of operating a forklift safely within the plant. Performs other related or associated duties as assigned, directed, or required. Detect unusual conditions or specific problems and report them to the Manager. Observe good housekeeping practices and comply with all safety and environmental work practices and requirements.

Provide assistance to other teammates engaged in or supporting product assembly or parts manufacturing activities to ensure product quality, schedule attainment and to maintain an injury free work environment and spirit of cooperation throughout the facility. Be qualified in both shipping and receiving workstations as well as quality inspection of incoming materials. Be versatile and flexible in work assignments.

Work to see that the KANBAN replenishment and inventory systems work efficiently to support team objectives. Be involved in continuous improvement of work functions and support and work within demand flow/just in time manufacturing processes and techniques.

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

  • One year of manufacturing experience, preferred.

  • Detailed oriented

  • Time management skills

  • May be required to lift up to 35 pounds

  • Attendance is an essential function and working overtime as scheduled to meet expectations

  • Prolonged periods standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasks

  • Understanding of desktop computer systems and various software programs to retrieve, record and communicate data

  • Material identification, tracking and inventory skills used to account for material

  • Requires reading, writing and ordinary arithmetic including decimals and fractions. Understanding of charts, graphs and tables to facilitate work processes tracking and problem solving

  • Periods of working in hot/cold manufacturing environment
