Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing financial and administrative duties in support of the accounting department.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accounts/financials according to ITW standards.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, assemble supporting documentation, and track the contents of accounts, specifically prepaid and accrual accounts

  • Prepare and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation

  • Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger

  • Track Construction in Process and capitalize assets put into service

  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets

  • Review travel and purchasing card spend, ensuring proper documentation and approval. Post expenses to appropriate accounts.

  • Have knowledge of sales and use tax and accrue use tax as necessary.

  • Compile and report monthly Sales Tax data.

  • Assist with Trade Compliance through the monthly review of Customs data and documentation maintenance.

  • Assist in monthly reconciling of balance sheet accounts.

  • Assist in other month-end close procedures as assigned.

  • Assist in spend analysis and second sourcing initiatives

  • Manage and track companywide strategic sourcing initiatives

  • Act as the main contact for all sourcing inquires

  • Assist in operational cost reduction and efficiency projects (ITW Front to Back Program)

  • Assist with supplier interaction and collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Assist in internal and external audits from various agencies.

  • Assist the Controller in solving routine or standard problems.

  • Work with Controller to develop new procedures in the spirit of continuous improvement.

  • Train and act as the alternate for certain financial procedures when necessary

  • Responsible for adhering to all Company, department, quality, and safety procedures.

  • Other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related analytical field.

  • 1-2 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • CPA Certification (or working towards one) preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, etc.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and applications, including but not limited to accrual accounting and budgeting.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is a must.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize daily functions as well as the ability to multi-task is critical.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and work well within a team.

  • Maintain confidentiality about data such as budgeting information, operational results, and profit margin.

  • Administer and adhere to accounting policies and divisional procedures.

  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to manage large data sets using VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables.

  • Experience with BNA and SYSPRO is a plus.
