Job Description

HII is looking for a software developer to support activities for the Office of Labor and Economic Analysis (OLEA). This position's main tasking will be developing the necessary environment to support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of information from disparate administrative and operational datasets into the OLEA database. This position will require fulltime onsite support with limited remote opportunities.

Job Activities:

  • Process routine and ad-hoc data processing tasks to ingest data into the OLEA database.

  • Obtain, organize, and maintain data dictionary information to include data keyword lists and dictionary forms.

  • Ensure all data entered for OLEA databases adheres to established standards and meets requirements for data integrity.

  • Provide recommendations for improvements to database design and construction.

  • Update database design and construction to meet specifications required for research.

  • Assess data for completeness and provide diagnostic reports.

  • Create data tabulations and other diagnostic reports as requested to identify required updates to database design and construction.

  • Establish and maintain software repository for OLEA data management code and other research code.

  • Maintain and document all code using the OLEA software repository.

  • Establish and enforce processes to ensure consistent, properly defined, well-maintained data repository.

  • Conduct routine data review to clean and reduce duplicate data.

  • Architect, implement, configure, and monitor data programming mechanisms as appropriate to support labor economic analysis and military personnel policy evaluation.

  • Propose, develop, and implement data processing and cleaning to support research, also documenting consistency with data review and military personnel policies and procedures.

  • Perform deidentification and create data extracts to meet research requirements.

Required knowledge, training, and certification:

  • SQL

  • Python

  • R ( desired but not required)

  • Stata (desired but not required)

  • IAT level II certification (as defined in AFMAN 33-285, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program) via a reputable industry resource.

  • Knowledge of military personnel policies and procedures pertinent to administrative data processing and organization.

  • Must have a Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family. Also, must be able to work at customer site.
