Summary You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (VENDOR/STORAGE MANAGEMENT) in the NAVY HOUSEHOLD GOODS/PERSONAL PROPERTY SHIPPING OFFICE (HHG/PPSO) VENDOR/STORAGE MANAGEMENT SECTION of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF. Responsibilities You will act as a point of contact for all household goods shipment management functions related to invoicing, Storage in Transit/Non-temporary Storage (SIT/NTS), and provide Transportation Service Provider (TSP) quality assurance oversight. You will approve/disapprove invoices submitted by Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) or contractors. You will manage shipments in both Storage-in-Transit (SIT) and Non-Temporary Storage (NTS). At the GS-5 level you will perform developmental duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-6 level your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated systems to process personal property shipments; 2) Calculate, review, and approve shipment costs, billing statements, and invoicing functions; 3) Preparing shipping documentation which may include determining excess cost; 4) Providing customer support while performing shipment and storage functions. For the GS-5 level your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated systems to process personal property shipments; 2) Assist in calculating shipment costs, and reviewing billing statements; 3) Assist in preparing shipping documents; 4) Providing customer support while performing shipment and storage functions. You may also qualify to the GS-5 level using education to substitute for experience. Education You may qualify for the GS-5 level if you have the completed four years of education above the high school level OR have a combination of education and experience.
