Summary You will serve as a CHEMIST in the DEPUTY DIRECTOR DIVISION 710, REGIONAL FUEL OFFICER DEPARTMENT 700 of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will serve as the senior Subject Matter Expert chemist overseeing a range of complex petroleum laboratory activities in order to assess fuel quality assurance conditions for all petroleum products received, stored and issued. You will develop, implement, and monitor sophisticated automated information/testing systems and equipment. You will serve as the senior Regional Chemist analyzing POL samples and results from test situations to determine product quality, type, quantity and identification of contaminants exceeding product use limits. You will oversee region correlation testing program providing completed test data results to customers in support equipment verification standard 16 sub-regional and DoD customer components. You will coordinate and maintain quality control and surveillance of bulk and packaged petroleum products. You will develop, implement, and monitor sophisticated automated information/testing systems and equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of Qualifying Specialized Experience: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of the correlation program, sample retention program and HAZMAT disposal standards; 2) Applying principles, methods, and tools for developing and analyzing test and evaluation procedures, and technical characteristics of systems, including identifying critical operational issues; 3) Interpreting and recording fuel tests in accordance with document retention standards; 4) Interpreting and implementing environmental regulations dealing with toxic substances, solid waste handling, clean air, and resource recovery and water pollution as it applies to product source discharges; 5) Performing varied routine chemical and physical testing of POL samples taken or received from customer base according requirements and guidelines provided by various API standards, organizational and Department of Defense (DOD) specifications.
