POSITION SUMMARY:iThe Plant Operator Trainee iWastewater Treatment is responsible for the assistance with maintenance, repair work, and plant operations under the oversight and guidance of certified operations personnel at the City of Branson's wastewater treatment plants and sewer lift stations. Additionally, the incumbent in this position must do all work necessary to become a Plant Operator I. This position is supervised by a Division Supervisor or Division Manager.CLOSING DATE:i i i iiUntil FilledWORK HOURS:i i iii iThis position will require shift work as it is necessary to have operations 24 hours a day/7 day a weekBENEFITS:i i i i i i i i iPlease click onithis linkifor benefits information.JOB DESCRIPTION:iiPlease click onithis linkifor the full job description.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREDiiHigh School diploma or GED equivalent is required.iiMust possess a Class "D" Missouri Wastewater Treatment Certification of Competency within 18 months of hire date.iiiiA valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required.iiMust possess a valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement within 12 months of hire date.iiiAdditional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.PREFERED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAININGiiOne (1) year of experience in performing semi-skilled building, mechanical, construction, or grounds maintenance tasks is preferred.iiNational Career Readiness Certificate is preferred.MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTSiiMust be at least 18 years of age.iiMust be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with the Division Supervisor or Division Manager in achieving those goals.iiMust possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.iiiMust demonstrate excellent customer service to those of internal or external to the department.iiiMust be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the positioniiiMust be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to have operations 24 hours a day/7 days a week.iiMust be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.iiMust be able to pass required physical capability examinations for the position.iiMust fulfill I-9 identification requirements within the guidelines set forth by the Department of Homeland Security through the E-Verify system.
