The Electric Power Division has an exciting opportunity for an Electric Power Product Support Representative based out of the Peachtree City, GA district office. As an Electric Power Product Support Rep at Caterpillar, you will be Caterpillar's in-territory representative for Electric Power product problem management in the southeastern United States, and English-speaking islands in the Caribbean, to minimize the commercial impact of customer complaints related to products, applications, and maintenance requirements. You will also be responsible for carrying out Electric Power product support development initiatives in partnership with internal organizations and dealers in your territory. You will have a direct bottom line impact on Caterpillar and dealer financial results.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Goodwill administration on Electric Power products serviced by your dealers

  • Be Caterpillar's liaison to their dealers for matters related to Electric Power product support by establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with dealership managers/staff and managers/staff within various marketing and engineering organizations at Caterpillar.

  • Represent Caterpillar, as required, during meetings with customers in matters related to Electric Power product support.

  • Ensure dealers have the capability and capacity to troubleshoot and service all Electric Power products they sell, including electrical distribution equipment.

  • Working with dealers in managing Product Improvement Programs cost effectively and within designated timeframes.

  • Facilitating factory technical assistance to dealers as required

  • Understanding customer/dealer market needs and communicate this within Caterpillar's Electric Power organization.

  • Working with the Electric Power Global Accounts organization to support major data center customers.

  • Working with Electric Power Sales, Aftermarket, and Dealer Services Division (DSD) field reps in support of mutual goals and initiatives, such as CVA growth and increasing the number of generator sets utilizing Cat Connect.

  • Up to 50% travel requirement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of equivalent Caterpillar experience

  • Technical understanding of Diesel and gas generator set operation and maintenance

  • 3+ years of experience working with Caterpillar dealers

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Completion of Caterpillar's Marketing Training Class program

  • 3 years of experience working in a Caterpillar marketing or engineering group

  • 3 years prior experience in a field position

  • Excellent personal relationship and communications skills

  • The ability to track and drive to completion multiple product problems and development projects, at multiple dealerships

  • Technical knowledge of and experience with mechanical failure analysis

  • Basic understanding of Caterpillar's network for new and remanufactured parts

  • Technical understanding of electric power distribution systems, and their maintenance requirements
