Waste Connections of Arkansas is looking for a safety conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team at our landfill in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. Ideal candidates have at least two years of heavy equipment operating experience operating a mini excavator, wheel loader, backhoe, or similar.
Shift:
You will be working Monday-Friday 6:00 am -3:30 pm or 7:00 am - 4:30 pm. There will be some Saturday work when needed for special projects, and some Saturdays after a holiday.
Responsibilities:
Operates backhoe, landfill compactor and front end loaders as required
Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping and related assignments
Ability to operate 40-ton trash trucks including hydraulic equipment such as tail gates, hoppers, and packers is a plus!
Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Ability to operate heavy equipment
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
