Overview
FTI is currently seeking an experienced, highly qualified Aircraft Carrier (CVN) Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will support the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aircraft Carriers and Fleet Stakeholders in their mission to achieve design, construction and delivery, lifecycle support, and the integration of systems into CVNs. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight for CVN supply, material, engineering readiness.
The candidate will perform engineering activities, engage with customers and stakeholders, and assess, recommend, and perform issue resolution. The candidate will create agendas and facilitate meetings (on or off ship and remotely) that address Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) requirements in the planning and execution stages of the Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA), Selected Restricted Availability (SRA), and Planned Incremental Availability (PIA).
The candidate will be recognized as a SME and advanced individual contributor. The candidate will conduct highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment. The candidate will analyze business issues, define requirements, design programs, and recommend controls and protocols to solve organizational information issues. Determine operational objectives, gather information, and evaluate output requirements and formats. Work closely with end users to analyze, define, model, and document systems requirements. May create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver training.
Responsibilities
Support government leadership by providing effective guidance and direction for acquisition program management philosophy, policies, and procedures to systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, and acquisition programs throughout their lifecycles.
Provide advisory support for the development of technical engineering requirements, technical guidance, data analysis, reports, and system analysis for CVN systems and subsystems; including data analytics and decision support tools that optimize and complement the operation and performance of CVN systems and subsystems.
Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Contractor Change Proposals (CCPs).
Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, and other meetings as required.
Support the performance of technical engineering requirement actions associated with procurement, sustainment, modification, and performance of specific systems or subsystems, provide technical guidance, data analysis, and reports, and assist in the coordination of technical activities.
Support the identification of potential system support gaps marked for review/feedback or corrective recommendations by Life Cycle Managers (LCMs) in support of ship's transition to in-service operational status.
Education/Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and 15+ years of relevant experience on programs/projects supporting the Department of Defense

Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues and recommend suitable replacements
Working knowledge of DoD and NAVSEA policies, processes, and procedures
Military experience with managing Aircraft Carrier repair and overhaul processes, and Aircraft Carrier hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E) operations, sustainment, and maintenance
Uniform experience as an Acquisition Professional (AP), Engineering Duty Officer (EDO), or Surface Warfare Officer supporting CVN overhaul and repair, and CVN shipboard organic corrective and preventive maintenance
Experience as a Contractor Project Manager or Analyst following aforementioned Navy officer CVN experience is required
Experience in the N4 Directorate of COMNAVAIRLANT/PAC, including an understanding of and ability to liaison with other directorates N6 (C5I) and N9 (Warfare Systems)
Experience as a CVN Damage Control Assistant, Auxiliaries Officer, or Division Officer; or similar Senior Enlisted expe rience is a plus
