Job Description:

The Sr Manager, Program Management position will be resonsible for providing cross functional support for planning, organization, control, documentation, tracking, integration and completion of customer programs and technology products related to spares and repairs. Responsible for coordinating activities with Business Development, Operations, Quality and Engineering in relation to technology development, sustainment, obsolescence mitigation, product spares and product repairs. Manage technology proposals, manufacture, and obsolescence mitigation efforts from customer requirements definition through product delivery. The successful candidate must be able to create and maintain a collaborative work environment; set goals; give clear direction to a team and provide decisive and constructive feedback; empower individuals to take ownership for their assignments; identify and capture funded program growth in addition to facilitating capture of new opportunities with customers; and demonstrate and insist on ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for end item products including developing and maintaining delivery schedules, resource allocation, scope and budgets in a Firm Fixed Price contracting environment.

  • Drive technical solution development for end item products ensuring alignment with technical, business, legal and customer requirements.

  • Manage complex production projects, obsolescence updates, mitigation plans and product sustainment.

  • Track and report project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and implementing corrective actions when needed.

  • Develop project proposals ensuring compliance with customer requirements and alignment with business goals for profit and growth.

  • Develop and champion new systems, processes, or training to drive business efficiencies and meet continuous improvement objectives.

  • Define and track KPIs to measure project performance. Provide supporting data to project stakeholders to track and maintain key business metrics.

  • Lead and manage cross functional teams, including fostering partnerships with stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and motivation to achieve project and business objectives.

  • Engage and maintain customer relationships and support customer satisfaction.

  • Develop long-term strategic plans, in partnership with business development to increase and maximize business opportunities with current and new customers.

  • Strong technical background and technology leadership skills.

  • Experience in a government contracting/manufacturing/engineering environment.

  • Experience in the maritime defense market and with new shipbuilding projects.

  • Previous Program Management experience managing complex programs.

  • Must have a strong understanding of Government contracting requirements, such as FAR, ITAR, etc.

  • Familiar with DOD/MIL standards and military equipment qualification processes and standards.

  • Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and corporate ERP systems (i.e., Costpoint, SAP)

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Project Manager or Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification or working towards certification.

  • Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Must be knowledgeable of Earned Value management (EVM), Cost Performance Reports (CPR) as they relate to the WBS, schedule and cost plans.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and most importantly; promote collaboration among the team by listening intently to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions when appropriate, and allowing others to speak without interruption.

  • Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills.

  • Must be available to travel (20% of time).

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires broad management and leadership knowldege to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the function.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a related field and 12 years of prior program management experience.

  • Graduate Degree in engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a related field and 10 years of prior program management experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior Program Management experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen.
