Papillion Sanitation , a Waste Connections Company's Diesel Mechanic Internship is an opportunity for students currently enrolled in a Diesel Technology program to gain valuable work experience while completing their education. Papillion Sanitation will pay the full cost of tuition, fees, and books for the required coursework each quarter, as well as offer enrolled students paid on the job training.
Interns will gain hands-on experience and develop their skills under the guidance of an experienced Diesel Mechanic Mentor with the possibility of becoming a Diesel Mechanic with us upon graduation.
The ideal candidate will have a self-motivated, go-getting attitude, that is looking to excel and grow with our GROWING company! We provide On-the-Job Training to lead you to the next technical level!

Qualifications
Specific fields of study required: Diesel Technology associate degree.
2.5 GPA or higher is required.
Valid Driver's License
Current full-time college student pursuing Diesel Technology Associate Degree program
Must be attending an accredited college/university.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to determine the cause of issues and necessary actions.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong collaboration skills to work with drivers, operations, and maintenance personnel.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision and guidance of an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Mentor, assist in troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
Assist in performing preventative maintenance.
Assist in performing electrical and hydraulic repairs.
Perform basic service tasks and related work as assigned.
Comply with all safety measures and handle company tools and equipment properly.
Complete all tasks efficiently and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
