This position will report to the Director of General Accounting and will be responsible for supporting the monthly close process and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, focusing on fixed assets and cash. In addition, the Senior Staff Accountant will assist the Finance organization with special projects and analyses. OBJECTIVES: * Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of the company's fixed assets, appropriations in process, and depreciation. * Confirm accuracy of reported cash balances through daily interactions with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury Departments. * Develop and implement new processes to improve efficiency. * DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Track, compile, and record fixed asset costs, including capitalization, transfer, disposal, and accumulated depreciation. * Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger with summary-level account detail in the general ledger. * Create fixed asset-related audit schedules and collaborate with both internal and external auditors. * Execute system-generated fixed asset jobs and prepare journal entries related to cash and property leases for month end close in accordance with strict closing deadlines. * Record monthly cash inflows and outflows and reconcile ledger accounts. * Complete account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity, including both Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts. * Contribute to department and organization special projects. * Commitment to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes. #Indeed-Associated EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance * Proficiency in fixed assets accounting (Oracle experience a plus) * Solid PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word * Strong technical and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
