Overview
The Security Governance and Risk division furthers the department's mission by enabling the business, helping to develop secure, quick-to market products, and managing information security technical risk across the enterprise.
The Security/Cyber Governance, Communications & Reporting team collaboratively aligns and engages the organization by increasing awareness of security best practices. The team's work reduces enterprise risk through creating influential, customer-focused security communication, education and design, including Front Office and Board updates.
Services consist of these functional areas:
Risk Governance and Reporting: Facilitates Security Department governance framework and associated risk reporting for senior management and the Board of Directors, including:
Monthly Security Risk Forum briefing to the Chief Security Officer
Joint Information Services and Security Sub-committee briefing to the Chief Security Officer, Chief Information Officer, and EVP Digital
Security Department briefings to the Front Office
Board and Board Committee briefings
Education, Awareness and Employee Communications: Educates members and employees on cybersecurity compliance and best practices through targeted topical communication, National Cybersecurity, Insider Threat, and Fraud Awareness Months, mandatory compliance training, and phishing alerts, (Includes team of multi-media design resources.)
Change Management
The Governance & Risk Reporting (Security) Summer Associate will partner with Risk Governance and Reporting leadership on the following initiatives:
Analyze current reporting procedures, platforms and tools with the following objectives:
Identify opportunities for process enhancement
Consider better ways to leverage existing technology or new solutions
Reinforce or develop controls to support risk reporting
Research process elements for automation
Explore closer integration with other facets of Security and NFCU
Support ongoing governance and risk reporting activities
Assist with maintenance of governance documents, metrics and maturity assessments
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Responsibilities
Prepare reports and presentations in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Evaluate reporting processes for efficiency enhancements and automation opportunities
Study and implement (where applicable) best practices from other teams within division, department, enterprise and industry
Identify and implement opportunities to automate data reporting and visualization where appropriate
Research emerging industry frameworks and regulations
Qualifications
Pursuing degree in risk management, business management, data science, information systems, cybersecurity or related field
Experience with data visualization
Familiarity with operational control frameworks
Prior experience in finance sector a plus
Experience with automated reporting platforms such as PowerBI a plus
Experience with AI and data governance a plus
Strong PowerPoint design skills a plus
