Job Description:
The Strategic Procurement & Planning division (SPPD) is looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to help plan, create, and deliver communications to division employees. You will provide communications consultation and support on a variety of internal and/or external assignments. In this role, you will continue to take on more senior strategic responsibilities. What you will do:
Create and implement communications strategy to support change management throughout the development, engagement and adoption of enterprise business processes and solutions.
Provides communications consulting to SPPD senior leaders and program managers in the development and production of communication deliverables at the enterprise level.
Assists in leading the development of enterprise-level communication strategies and deliverables, provides consulting to customers, and serves as a support to the Communications Lead on Division strategy.
Owns several communication vehicles and manages several non-repeating projects through completion.
Develops and executes communications activities including newsletters, web sites, videos, streaming media, employee meetings, displays, photographs, presentations, special events, cascades, etc.
Oversee web content management for all business unit(s) web sites, including some writing and content creation.
Coordinates event management activities, such as leader meetings, all employee meetings, etc.
Assists the business unit Communications Lead as the communication focal point for the division(s) and deliver communications to employees and leaders.
Mentor team members.
What you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field of study.
5 - 7 years of job-related experience as a business unit or corporate communicator.
Top Candidates will also have:
Knowledge of Caterpillar policies, practices, and procedures.
Familiar with the organization being served.
The ability to maintain confidentiality, strong writing skills and experience, and excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside of the department.

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
