Logistics Analyst 2

JOB PURPOSE:
To perform operational and tactical work to meet plant logistics deliverables.
Job Duties include, but not limited to :
Working under the direction of Logistics Engineers and Logistics Manager, ensure material is shipped, received, stored, or delivered quickly and efficiently. Perform tasks to improve inbound and outbound material flow. Using the CPS Guiding Principles, participate in continuous improvement projects:
Manage material to PFEP-defined flowpaths
Recommend and deploy material movement using defined transportation options
Investigate root causes and perform corrective action to resolve transportation, warehousing, and distribution issues.
Support efforts to improve carrier quality and container scheduling and availability
Optimize distribution and warehousing processes through project-based work. Achieve PQVC targets across Safety, POU Availability, Record Accuracy, MRDR Processing, Customer Shipments and Order Fulfillment, and other logistics operations.
Responsible for optimizing material flow throughout the plant site, ensuring availability of needed resources, to include operating personnel and material handling equipment, always working to eliminate bottlenecks.
Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Basic Qualifications:
College degree in a field related to Logistics Engineering, Transportation, or Supply Chain, OR equivalent experience within logistics, supply chain, distribution, and/or assembly operations
Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills to work high-impact projects across multiple departments and business divisions, affecting global internal and external customers
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex problems while dealing with uncertainty
Must also be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
Must be proficient with all Microsoft office products.
Top Candidates will also have:
2+ years of logistics and/or distribution experience
Experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools
Experience with Crystal reporting and/or Power BI

Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN
