We are looking for a highly motivated candidate that has experience in the automotive field in a direct customer facing role with a mind for problem solving, innovation and creative thinking.
The Sales & Business Development Manager role will focus primarily on promoting, selling, and securing new business. They will target customers, programs, and identify new opportunities for business growth. Develop and cultivate relationships with customers, assist with quality issues, and visit customers. Work with engineering to develop, monitor, and manage all programs and projects. Prepare and update customer sales forecasts, marketing plans, and generate new business opportunities. Generate proposals, cost estimates, and presentations for both internal and external purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify new opportunities to convert into new business unit sales for both existing and new customers.
Develop, implement, and deliver product presentations tailored to customers as appropriate.
Manage multiple customer accounts with the same product types to capitalize on potential growth opportunities.
Prepare and maintain annual sales forecasts and monthly Program Status Report (PSR) reports for assigned accounts.
Maintain direct contact and interfaces with customer engineering, product development, and purchasing organizations to ensure ITW participation in new programs.
Provide exceptional customer service dealing with issues including but not limited to delivery, product quality, payments, product design, and pricing.
Update management regarding account risks and opportunities recommending actions to mitigate risk and exploit opportunities.
Participate in the development of long-term objectives including the development of strategies, goals, and plans.
Achieve or exceed sales and profit margin goals and objectives.
Coordinate product development and launches working with engineering to ensure new products meet customer expectations, specifications, and timing requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or scientific/engineering field.
2-4 years work history with experience in sales and with manufacturing and engineered products in the automotive field.
Knowledge of automotive filters is preferred.
Experience selling to OEM's and Tier 1 automotive suppliers is a big plus.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with quoting, negotiations and product profitability contributors.
Strong familiarity with sales and marketing functions within the automotive market.
Adept at analyzing data, facts, and issues to arrive at best possible decisions.
Basic understanding of product engineering principles and manufacturing processes with an emphasis on injection molding.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong listening skills.
Strong PC skills with intermediate proficiency in MS Office programs.
Travel primarily to North American customers, vendors, and trade shows with occasional travel to Juarez, Mexico
