Leidos's Health Solutions Performance and Readiness Division is seeking a dedicated full-time Research Scientist to support the Deployment Health Research Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. This role is pivotal in supporting multiple ongoing health research studies aimed at enhancing the health, readiness, and well-being of military personnel. As a Research Scientist, you'll collaborate closely with military, government, and contract researchers, engaging in various tasks crucial to the success of these projects. The selected candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be detail oriented.

This is currently a hybrid position and employees will be expected to come on-site to the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego approximately 2 days a week. The other three days they can work from their home office. This is subject to change in the future based on contract requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of the research process including proposal development; study design;data collection and management; data analysis and interpretation; and the reporting of study findings.
Collaborate in developing Institutional Review Board protocols and ensuring their compliance.
Conduct thorough literature reviews.
Coordinate subject recruitment and lead data collection efforts; Manage logistics for data collection and track progress efficiently.
Administer consent forms, questionnaires, surveys, focus groups, and interviews with research participants.
Ensure strict compliance with data collection policies.
Create, maintain, and update documents describing study policies and procedures.
Create, maintain, and manage databases for ongoing and upcoming research projects.
Accurately input and track research data in databases and reports; Review subject records for accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Conduct various types of statistical analyses using software packages like Excel, SAS, SPSS, or similar tools.
Develop progress reports, briefings, and presentations.
Contribute to the writing and editing of study materials, reports, and manuscripts.
Assist in preparing and presenting informal and formal briefings at conferences and meetings.
Collaborate to develop new study ideas and research proposals.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree is psychology, health promotion, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a human subjects research setting.
Ability to travel to participate in data collection.
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the military community.
Master's degree is psychology, health promotion, or related field.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
