WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE
This position will be located at The Energy Center in Birmingham.
Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently three (3) days in office (subject to adjustment)
SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is responsible for onboarding, offboarding and all related issues pertaining to the supplemental labor workforce. The Supplemental Staffing Lead ensures the supplemental staffing process follows policies, contracts, standards, and procedures for Southern Company. Provide direct supervision, assign work, and provide performance management.
This position will be filled at an Exempt Level 6 or 7, based on the skills and qualifications of the successful candidate.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
Bachelor's degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in a human resources or business administration field, or equivalent experience preferred.
2+ years of Southern Company Performance Management experience preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs required.
Experience and knowledge of company operating systems (COS) including the time keeping systems, purchasing systems, vendor management systems, etc.
Demonstrated ability to promote a team oriented, collaborative environment.
Highly knowledgeable of Southern Company policies and procedures.
Consistent implementation of Southern Company processes and procedures.
Analytical skills and the ability to solve complex issues logically and expeditiously.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading the department and setting the direction of the department.
Effectively interfacing and communicating with SoCo executive management regarding Supplemental Staffing.
Mentoring departmental members and ensuring that their Career Plans are fully investigated and developed.
Provide meaningful and thorough performance management.
Screening of potential Supplemental Workers to support onboarding requests.
Coordinating with Compliance and Human Resources as related to onboarding and off-boarding Supplemental Labor.
Continually track and monitor current billing rates to ensure consistency with the current market data and contractual rate sheets.
Support the generation of Supplemental Staffing labor invoices.
Review and reconcile Supplemental Staffing expense labor invoices.
Responsible for Supplemental Agency contract maintenance. This involves heavy interface with Supply Chain Management to ensure that purchase order and contracts are accurate, funded and active.
Lead in the generation of standard and ad-hoc departmental reports. Promptly respond to any questions/clarifications associated with these reports. Lead in the generation of additional analysis, as needed, to supplement reporting.
Resolves daily issues with Supplemental Staffing Agencies relative to Supplemental Workers and Supplemental Worker contracts.
Resolves daily issues and regularly communicates with Southern Company managers who utilize Supplemental Labor.
Coordinates end of assignment for Supplemental Workers.
Support ongoing organizational audits associated with Supplemental Staffing contracts.
Track purchase order spend. Identify when additional funds are required to be added to the purchase orders.
Responsible for leading ad-hoc and pre-planned meetings on all Supplemental Staffing related topics. These meetings are with SoCo management and Agency management.
Maintain and develop departmental desk-top-procedures and guidelines.
Responsible for leading efforts associated with knowledge transfer and cross-training.
Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with Supplemental Staffing Agencies.
Responsible for ensuring Southern Company has the right Agency portfolio to meet future needs. This includes routinely meeting with business development contacts from potential future partners.
Responsible for managing complex and sensitive issues associated with Supplemental Staffing. Lead all discussions on these issues. Interface professionally and competently with Southern Company management and Agency management.
Be available to be address after-hours issues associated with Supplemental Staffing.
Support other related departmental and organizational duties, as assigned.
