_JOB TITLE:_ Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Windows Manufacturing _SUMMARY:_ * The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for operational process improvements throughout the facility. This role provides an effective interface for the day-to-day manufacturing leadership and production teams to drive efficiency, quality and ensure safety and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible to recommend and implement projects for eliminating waste such as reorganizing workflow, reducing scrap/rework, and improving manufacturing cycle time. In addition, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer aligns with the Windows Manufacturing leadership to effectively develop and improve existing equipment specifications and improve equipment uptime/OEE, and maintains/develops effective standard work. This role also develops capital appropriation justifications and implements capital projects. *_DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:_ * Uses lean manufacturing principles to improve key manufacturing processes. * Develops and recommends capital equipment specifications and performance requirements, and develops cost analysis/justifications that improves effectiveness and efficiency in operations. * Assist in evaluating product quality including scrap generation and rework, identifying ways to reduce scrap and improve product first pass yield. * Develop manufacturing processes by redesigning and modifying processes and equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components. * Managing and motivating any subordinates to reach peak performance. * In partnership with operational leaders, ensure project cost, quality and schedule targets are achieved, managing the implementation of projects and lean initiatives with teams. * Act as a change agent; drive change and influence others with implied authority and assertiveness within the organization to make sustainable and measurable process improvements. * When needed, will lead project execution through completion with a hands-on attitude to drive the continuous improvement culture on the shop floor. _EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:_ * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience * Experience AutoCad of other design software experience desirable * Experience with programmable logic controllers, ladder logic, and other machine control systems * 7-10 years of experience in a high performing manufacturing environment demonstrating impact and efficiency improvements * Knowledge of mix model sequencing * Ideal candidate will have experience in flat glass or glass manufacturing operations. * Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is important * Ideal candidate is skilled in implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology to drive out cost. #AM-CentralPlant All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
