Summary You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR in the Logistics Readiness Department, Vehicle Operations Control Center of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR. (647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii). Responsibilities You will drive one or more types of passenger vehicles/buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers such as sedans, vans, crew cabs, pickup trucks, jeeps, station wagon, passenger buses, or light duty S/P trucks 1 - 1.5T. You will drive predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs. You will use judgement in making wide turns, braking, and backing and turning the bus around safely. You will operate all forklifts up to 10K capacity to facilitate the lifting/moving or delivering of cargo or equipment onto trucks, trailers or within warehouses or other confined spaces. You will schedule and dispatch passenger, cargo, and U-drive vehicles. You will perform operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning, washing, and waxing general/special purpose vehicles. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform the work of a WG-5703-07 Motor Vehicle Operator, working under normal supervision, as demonstrated by operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers on public roads and at highway speeds, and in congested traffic; handling the controls for starting, stopping, backing, shifting and driving the vehicle; judging overhead and side clearances, turning radius, and braking distance from the preceding vehicle; adjusting for changes in road conditions; overseeing the embarking and debarking of passengers; enforcing passenger compliance with seat belt and other safety laws; understanding and applying safety rules and regulations, using defensive driving techniques; conducted operator level vehicle inspections; completing trip tickets, logs, and/or accident reports (as required); maintaining established schedules by arriving to at stops within prescribed time frames; providing polite and courteous passenger service and possession of a valid state-issued Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement.
