Waste Connections is looking to hire a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Vancouver, Washington! Hourly Rate of pay is $26.81/HR. Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services and repairs . Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. . Test drive trucks after services and repairs . Ability to effectively communicate and understand service schedule and/or repairs . Perform some welding . Available to help mechanic with repairs as needed . General shop cleaning responsibilities . Equipment safety checks . Maintain and track service inventory . Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon . Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports . Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Valid Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement; or ability to obtain in the futureMinimum 1 year of proven experience in the fieldWillingness to submit to and pass background check and pre-employment drug screening test Basic tool set, toolbox Ability to work an average of 50 hours a weekSchedule will be 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 10:30Pm-7:00am WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT: Strenuous physical work, to include heavy lifting, pushing, or pullingAbility to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignmentsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to maintain and supply own personal tools needed to perform essential dutiesWelding/fabrication experience, a major plus What we offer to you: .
