The Role

SPM Oil & Gas currently has an opening for an Assembler II located in Fort Worth, TX. The Assembler II is responsible for preparing and assembling the product. Assembler II is a skilled, experienced technician with the ability to perform most tasks independently, while seeking guidance or training for more critical tasks. Level of the Assembler role will be dependent on factors such as candidate experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare components for assembly

  • Assemble parts per work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, blueprints, Risk Assessment and job routers

  • Ability to assemble quality products to meet safety protocol and efficiency standards

  • Tests or assists in testing the operation of completed product

  • Maintain routine housekeeping to eliminate workplace hazards

  • Ability to train others in portions of the assembly process

  • Comprehendsentire assembly process from start to finish

  • Exhibits effective communication

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to become forklift certified within 30 days. Must be able to effectively operate hand-held scanner (inventory transaction device) within 30 days. Ability to use identification tools (engraver, metal stamps, paint pen) to mark product. Ability to read and interpret dimensional drawings.
