Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Growth Lead to join our teams in the Los Angeles/Orange, CA area. We are looking for a growth-oriented senior leader to help drive expansion of our portfolio in the LA/OC area and better synergize our offering across multiple offices. In this position you will:
Build out our next generation of senior practitioners in the transportation markets (highways, rail, transit) to support projects across California
Catalyze growth of current key clients (Caltrans, LA County PW, LA BOE) and seek opportunities to bring new clients to our EPP practice (LA Metro, RCTC, LOSSAN)
Improve synergies with our local teams in the Water and Transportation BLs to deliver more fully integrated programs and projects with environmental services in parallel to engineering, design, or planning.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Grow the Environmental Planning Business in LA/Orange
In collaboration with the SoCal Env Planning Manager and Regional Growth Lead, develop a strategic plan for the growth of environmental planning work in the LA/Orange region that identifies greatest opportunities in the market (e.g., funding streams, key clients, market trends, etc.), leverages AECOM's position and team, and articulates a disciplined approach to maximize growth.
Collaborate with senior staff in LA/Orange to understand current clients, contract vehicles, and create an engagement plan and growth strategy for those clients.
Network with existing clients to increase the volume and value of opportunities in the AECOM pipeline, focusing on maximizing existing MSAs/on-call contracts.
Partner with EPP Regional BD Leads to strategically seek out new clients to expand market presence and services.
Serve Env BL Client Lead for key LA/Orange clients (e.g., LA Metro, Caltrans D7).
Serve as capture manager on key opportunities including pre-positioning, win strategy, solution development, competitor analysis, and identifying resources to fully respond to the bid requirements.
Collaborate with other SoCal capture managers, CAMs and PMs with developing Salesforce pipeline, tracking opportunities, GNG decisions, proposal strategy, and staffing.
Cross business line Environmental Planning liaison for LA/Orange Region:
Meet regularly with xBL (Transportation, Water, B+P) leadership to identify opportunities for EPP staff to support current projects and position for upcoming opportunities.
Identify xBL clients/contracts to mine for environmental planning services
Lead strategic xBL pursuits in partnership with other BL's.
Facilitate coordination of xPractice/xBL collaboration to ensure winning team and technical approach during proposal development and project execution.
Serve as a key representative of the EPP practice in AECOM's SoCal Metro+ organization and AECOM's LA Initiative.
Regional Transportation Market Leadership:
Provide Project Director/Contract Management-level oversight and execution of Transportation-focused Environmental Planning programs and projects throughout Southern California and broader West Region.
Integrate into state-wide Caltrans Client Account program and potentially Contract Manager for specific active contracts (e.g., D4 South Counties). Potentially transition to Client Account Manager role. Help AECOM pursue contracts in new districts outside of San Diego and the Bay Area.
Advance consistent tools and technical approaches for delivering high-quality, profitable work in AECOM's transportation sector.
Mentor Environmental Planning and Permitting staff in executing Transportation projects
People Leadership (timeline of owning direct reports TBD)
Grow a team (internally and/or externally) of environmental staff focused on supporting transportation, water, and infrastructure projects.
Develop job requisitions and recruitment plan to support growth of identified key clients.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Transportation Planning, or similar.
8 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in an environmental or business management related field.
15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years experience as a Contract Manager and/or Program Manager for LA-based clients.
Deep knowledge of California and Federal environmental planning and permitting regulations and processes.
Experience leading environmental planning projects for California and Federal transportation projects.
Business development acumen, including experience leading large, multidisciplinary proposal efforts.
People leadership experience
Strong communication skills
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $180,000.00.
