Position Description
If you love high profile and challenging programing projects supporting the US Navy- Serco has a great opportunity for you! This Navy Technical Trainer will be on a dynamic team, developing training curricula and related materials and providing training to Sailors in multiple global locations. You will be based out of sunny San Diego, CA location. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.
Serco supports the US Navy and NAVWAR developing and delivering training for US Navy communications networks ashore. Our team maintains and manages the training programs ensuring the safety of the Sailors and to allowing them to perform their missions successfully.
You will be part of a 4-member team working closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Rick Shute [ www.linkedin.com/in/rickshute ] leads this team with over 35 years' experience and is a Navy veteran. The team has received an Excellent rating in their last CPARS and has been recognized by the Navy for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
Under general supervision, involved with developing technical courses to meet training needs and delivering training to end-users. Conducts training needs assessment, vendor selection and evaluation of training programs making changes to the curriculum and course content as appropriate. Maintains up to date technical resource library.
In this role you will :
Organize daily work to meet production schedules
Design and develop technical instruction, developing complex courses
Develop outlines, objectives, graphics, course content, exercises, test materials, and documentation
Research technical concepts to develop course content
Present material visually and through multimedia programs
Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness
Interface with project leaders, subject matter experts, clients, instructional designers, graphic designers, and the application team
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have :
An Active TOP SECRET security clearance
Sponsorhip will be considered for those that are Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret Clearance and have specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience or for labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data
Clearance must be Active before on-boarding
US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or similar. Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years with U.S Navy Messaging Systems. Experience within the last five years preferred
Requires Information Assurance related certification such as CompTIA Security +, CISSP etc
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong editing skills; attention to detail
Strong degree of creativity and self-directed work is required
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
