Ground Operations Technician (Ground Systems Equipment Servicer 1)
KBR is seeking a Ground Operations Technician (Ground Systems Equipment Servicer 1) to support Wallops Flight Facility.
Responsibilities
Become an integrated member of a multidisciplinary installation design team responsible for safe installation and operation of range vehicle and spacecraft processing systems. Vehicle and spacecraft processing systems include high pressure, cryogenic, hypergolic fuel and decontamination, ordnance, and mechanical and electrical range systems.
Work will include using, modifying, testing, and replacing subsystem components as necessary to ensure lifecycle maintenance and operability of systems are maintained and mission requirements achieved. The technician will Identify and implement changes to systems that result in resource cost savings and process improvements.
Assemble, integrate, test, and implement new/repaired systems and processes into WFF Operations, ensuring performance meets requirements and systems are in compliance with WFF and manufacturers specifications.
Manage maintenance programs for vehicles and equipment, performing fleet management of a wide range of ground support equipment including heavy equipment, vehicles, forklifts, man lifts, etc.
Perform corrosion control operations including sandblasting, Thermal Spray metallization, welding, and painting of systems and sub-system components.
Work directly with WFF Personnel and Mission Customers to ensure their requirements are met, requires excellent customer service and communications skills.
Participate in procedure and user guide development for newly installed systems and processes beginning with review for clarity and evolving to technical critique.
Must be willing to attend formal training as needed to pursue required certifications, as well as strictly adhere to all safety and quality standards applied.
Must be willing and physically able to perform all tasks previously listed, including the performance of reoccurring medical/physical checkups to maintain certifications.
Ground Operations is a dynamic work environment. Must be willing and able to accommodate shifting work schedules and timeframes to support mission or other operations as needed.
Qualifications
High School diploma and demonstrate two years technical education OR Associates Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology field OR Military Equivalent OR related Vocational School Certificate
Be able to hold and maintain a valid CDL
Be able to hold and maintain a secret clearance
